***CELIA SEARS – Celia a Veteran fashion industry professional, started her journalistic career as the fashion editor for one of Canada’s national newspapers, then another four years fashion editor for WORD MAGAZINE CANADA. As the demand for her talents grew, a host of commercial and editorial clients regularly requested Celia for her strong styling, creative direction, and production capabilities. Now based in Milan, Celia’s work continues to appear in publications such as VOGUE, ELLE, MARIE CLAIRE ITALIA, DONNA MODERNA,D REPUBBLICA, and FLAIR ITALIA her impressions on Fashion Weeks in New York, Toronto and Milan are often captured by national and international television and print media.

Celia presently scouts for models to work in the Italian fashion market collaborating with the biggest Milan Modelling Agencies, and most recently launched the successful career of one of Canada’s newest and brightest young modeling stars Alana Zimmer who can be seen in campaigns such as Prada, Missoni, and Marc Jacobs and Moschino for starters and has appeared in Magazines Vogue Italia, Vogue Japan, Numero, Harpers Bazaar to name a few as well as gracing the most prestigious catwalks world wide, and this is all in her first year!

Celia continues to be the Milan Fashion correspondent for FASHION QUARTERLY MAGAZINE CANADA, organizing photo shoots in Italy for the Canadian market as well as consulting on strategic planning and branding strategies for luxury “made in Italy” labels

***LISA DRADER-MURPHY – Designer
Canadian designer Lisa Drader-Murphy is the president and owner of Turbine Fashion Design Studio & Cafe in Falmouth, NS and the Turbine Flagship Boutique in Halifax, NS.  A 2005 Progress Club Women of Excellence award winner in the category of innovator/entrepreneur, Drader-Murphy has been a designer for the garment design and manufacturing industry for 20 years.

After graduating in 1990 from Form & Function Design Academy in Calgary at the top of her class, Lisa went on to design numerous products for a variety of sectors, including technical industrial wear, ladies ready-to-wear, active wear, and children’s clothing and has contributed to the wardrobing for a number of film and television productions.

Lisa has held positions as Head of Design and Director of Design & Product Development for major Canadian manufacturers of Technical apparel and has consulted extensively as Canada’s only independent specialist in the design of technical industrial performance clothing.

Under the Turbine label, Lisa designs and produces seasonal collections of ready-to-wear, handbags, and jewellery that are of the moment yet enduring and classic in their quality and expression of timeless design. She offers services that include custom fitting, wardrobe planning, and fabric selection with an uncompromising attention to the individual needs of each client. Many of the pieces are made using high quality never-before-used vintage fabrics dating back to the 50’s and 60’s adding an element of nostalgia and enhancing differentiation. The utilization of vintage materials decreases raw material production equaling sustainability and an eco-conscious undercurrent to exceptional design.

Since establishing Turbine in 1997, her business has garnered national buzz, with coverage including CTV, Canadian Living Television and CBC, as well as in numerous print publications. Turbine offers a fashion and accessory collection, website, retail showroom, production operation, cafe, private fine dining, complete cosmetic and skincare line and workshop services.

***GARY HILL – retired after a success career as a senior high school teacher to pursue a career in business.  Gary is part owner and director of Atlantic Talent and Model Agency for the last seven years.  Also, Gary is part owner of Red Star Films and a real estate development company.

 

***NANCY HILL - after a successful career with the Federal Government, left to pursue her dream of having her own business.  Nancy is co-owner and Talent Agent of Atlantic Talent Agency.  She is also part owner of Red Star Films.

 In June 2008 Gary & Nancy were Co-Producers in Paul Kimball’s feature film “Eternal Kiss”, filmed in the new Yarmouth Film Studio. Gary went on to be a Producer and Nancy, Production Manager of Sandy MacLean’s short film “Just Desserts”. In May 2009 Gary and Nancy became full partners with Paul Kimball’s film & TV production company Redstar Films Ltd. Gary became Executive Producer and Nancy Co-Producer of Benjamin Steven’s short film “New Blood”. Gary & Nancy continue to run Atlantic Talent & Model Agency and work with  Redstar Films Ltd.

***MARIE FRANCINE GODIN (owner-director Animation Virtuose – Actress and singer)

 Marie Francine Godin is known as a multidisciplinary artist who has focused her career in theatre and singing. Her versatility reveals sensitivity, energy and an immeasurable passion. Born in 1968 in Grande-Anse, New-Brunswick, Marie Francine discovered very early her passion for the arts as she would use hair brushes, wooden spoons or anything she could find as a microphone …. With a vivid imagination, she would create innumerable scenarios that she played out. Her acting and singing debut in high school increased her commitment to become an artist. At age seventeen, Marie Francine left the family to study four years at drama school. This is where was discovered her large array of talent. Marie Francine takes the skin of any character proposed; from the purest to the most unworldly. It is also during this period that she worked as stage manager and production manager for artists such as Daniel Bélanger, Michel Rivard, Michel Barrette, Pierre Flynn, “Le théâtre sans fil”, “Les Grands Ballets Canadiens” and many others.

 Her professional career as an actress began in 1990 under the direction of Dominic Lavallée. Subsequently, Marie Francine worked with directors such as Mathieu Gaumond, Denis Marleau, Ivan Vaneck, Carl Béchard and others. She will also share her enthusiastic passion for theater and singing by teaching it. 

 This rising young artist was consecrated discovery of the year in 1994. That same year, a combination of circumstances will take her to Québec, where she decides to make home.

 Marie Francine first dedicated her time in her new surroundings to teaching the Arts at “Les Ateliers Imagine” and co-founded “La Maison Jaune” where she will lead the singing school “Le Rossignol” for two years. In 1998, “Les Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France” offered her a job as event coordinator which she accomplished until 2002. From 2003 to 2006 she was named artistic director and special events director, she will accomplish a lot there during her seven years with the organization of “Les Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France”. It is also at that time that she became a specialist in street theater as she also participated as a performer in the yearly event. To all this was added various contracts with many local artists, including tenor Yves Cantin as actress-singer. She has also worked for the Exposition of Toronto as production director of “Snow flyier’s International” the skate, acrobatic and pyrotechnic show with many artists from “Le Cirque du Soleil” and other companies.

From 2005 ongoing Marie Francine coaches dancers and is the official singer for “Le Ballet de Québec” and “La Compagnie Christiane Bélanger” in addition to being the stage director. In 2007, Marie Francine co-founded with two other talented artists “La Compagnie Artistique Ciel et Terre.” An experimental theatre company.  In 2008 Marie Francine founded the company “Animation Virtuose”, company who is now a leader in the province of Quebec in street theater, historical performances, event coordination and theatrical productions.
